We are currently hiring an Experienced Front of House who will have lead duties. We are hiring for a Full-time position, we are currently open 7-2 Monday through Saturday, 8-1 on Sundays and this position would include weekends. Job Summary The Front of House Lead is a hands-on role that supports smooth, friendly, and efficient service at JavaAbilities. This position works alongside baristas and café staff, modeling great hospitality and helping guide service flow during busy times. The FOH Lead is a positive team coach, cash-handling pro, and ambassador for our mission of inclusion, supporting team members of all abilities to succeed in their roles.
Key Responsibilities:
1. On-the-Floor Service & Support- Prepare coffee, tea, and specialty drinks to our quality standards
- Assist customers with orders, payments, and questions
- Maintain a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all guests
- Jump in to help team members during rushes or special events 2. Coaching & Team Support
- Provide on-the-job guidance for team members, including those with disabilities, using clear and encouraging communication
- Model excellent service and hospitality skills
- Help new team members learn menu items, drink prep, and service routines
- Help us as we create techniques for training and support 3. Cash Handling & POS
- Operate the point-of-sale system and handle cash/card transactions accurately
- Follow all cash handling procedures, including till counts and daily close-outs
- Assist with or train others doing same tasks 4. Cleanliness & Organization
- Keep the front counter, customer area, and condiment stations clean and stocked
- Assist with dishes, bussing tables, and maintaining overall shop cleanliness
- Help with direction for others doing same tasks 5. Social Media Support ( if you love social media, this could be for you!)
- Capture photos or short videos of drinks, pastries, or events for social media
- Share ideas for posts or promotions with the marketing/management team 6. Inventory & Up Front Ordering With training, handle up front inventory or orders or communicate your needs to the Managers. Skills & Qualifications
- Previous barista or café experience required
- Positive, encouraging attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to give and receive feedback respectfully
- Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Basic POS/cash handling skills
