Front Desk Clerk Boys & Girls Club of Merced County - Merced, CA Part-Time Position Overview The Front Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for youth, families, and visitors. This role supports daily Club operations by greeting the public, managing member sign‑ins, processing registrations and payments, and providing excellent customer service. Ideal for someone who enjoys working with the community, stays organized, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities Guest & Member Support — Greet visitors, answer questions about programs, and provide general information. Member Check‑In — Ensure accurate and efficient sign‑in for all members. Registration & Payments — Process registrations, collect fees, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records. Parent & New Member Orientation — Assist families with forms, onboarding, and program details. Phone & Front Desk Operations — Answer calls, route inquiries, and maintain front desk supplies and forms. Program & Event Lists — Maintain sign‑up lists for field trips, special events, and classes; notify families when full or waitlisted. Facility Tours — Coordinate tours for interested families with available staff. Team Communication — Work closely with staff and supervisors to support smooth daily operations. Community Engagement — Promote the Club positively to members, families, and the public. General Duties — Support additional tasks as assigned by the Program Manager. Qualifications Communication Skills — Strong verbal and written communication. Front Office Experience — Previous receptionist or customer service experience preferred. Computer Skills — Ability to type 55 WPM; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and basic databases. Multitasking Ability — Able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment. Public Interaction — Comfortable working with children, teens, parents, and community members. Record‑Keeping Knowledge — Familiar with filing systems, phone systems, and data entry processes.
