Job Description

The Guest and Bar Steward for The Commodore Motel is a multifaceted position responsible for handling front desk and concierge interactions and responsibilities, while simultaneously providing exceptional bartending service. As the first and last point of contact for guests, the Guest and Bar Steward is responsible for expertly engaging all guests while also creating a welcoming and engaging bar experience. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable multitasking in a boutique hospitality environment. This role utilizes RoomMaster as the Property Management System and Toast as the Point of Sale system. Front Desk Clerk Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure Check guests in and out using RoomMaster PMS Process reservations, cancellations, modifications, and payments accurately Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding accommodations, rates, amenities, and local attractions Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints promptly and courteously, escalating when necessary Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions Maintain accurate guest records and ensure confidentiality of guest information Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure room readiness and guest satisfaction Monitor lobby and public areas to ensure cleanliness and a welcoming atmosphere Follow all property policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols Bartender Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and standards Operate Toast POS system for drink orders, tabs, and payments Verify guest age and comply with all local and state alcohol service laws Engage guests in a friendly, professional manner to create a relaxed and enjoyable bar atmosphere Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including restocking supplies Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible service Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately Assist with opening and closing duties of the bar, including inventory and side work Report any maintenance or supply needs to management
