Function:
 To provide excellent customerservice so that you anticipate the guest's needs and exceed their expectations.
Essential Functions:
 Provide the highest qualityof service to the guest at all times.  Handle guest check-ins andcheck-outs efficiently and in a friendly and professional manner.  Maintain guest privacy by ensuring Key Control Policy is utilized and ensure no room numbers and/or guestnames are given out without proper identification.  Receive and transmit mail, phone, and written messages for guests.  Promote repeat business byoffering to take future reservations upon check-out at our hotel.  Be very knowledgeable of thefrequent stay club and its benefits and any current promotions being offered.  Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, take reservations, and know cancellationprocedures and the company's walk policy.  Communicate with incomingshift associates by logging pertinent information in the pass-on log.  Ensure that all cash, check,and miscellaneous departments are in balance at the end of each shift.  Check all credit cards toensure they are valid.  Keep housekeeping and other departments informed of any special requests, late check-outs and special need areas in thehotel.  Post room charges, collect payment and make changefor hotel guests following all cash handling procedures as required by hotel.  Maintain a log of items borrowed from the Front Desk and deliver items when necessary.  Have knowledge of hotelproperty, hotel staff, and hotel services with hours of operations; roomlocations, types of rooms, and room selling strategies; hotel rates anddiscounts and how to handle each; hotel credit and check cashing policies andprocedures.  Responsible for propertelephone etiquette.  Develop a thorough knowledgeof property management system.  Develop a thorough knowledge of the accounting system particularly how to handle guests being Direct Billed.  Be aware of new potential sales contacts through guest interaction and report the information to theappropriate individual.  Contribute and support the hospitality programs to ensure their success.  Be able to move luggage or packages weighing up to 30 lbs.  Have a thorough knowledge ofemergency procedures.  Keep the Front Desk areaneat, clean, and free of safety hazards.  Wear proper uniform at alltimes in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.  Following approved laundryprocedures, ensure understanding of operation of washer and dryers (whereapplicable).  Must be thoroughly familiarwith Associate Handbook. Associate must adhere to all work rules, procedure andpolicies established by the company; including, but not limited to, thosecontained in the associate handbook.  Practice safety standards atall times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardousconditions immediately.  Other duties as assigned, ofwhich the associate is capable of performing.
