Job Description

Front Desk Staff Comfort Inn by Choice Hotels Wichita, KS Job Details Part-time $11 - $13 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Spanish Night audit Identifying new business opportunities English Attention to detail Creativity Closing sales leads Hotel experience Closing sales Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Agent. You will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for welcoming them, managing check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and ensuring a great guest experience. This is a guest-facing role, so strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential. A key focus of this role is closing sales—whether through reservations or upselling. If you have a background in sales, we strongly encourage you to apply. We value individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to grow in the hospitality industry. The starting pay for this role is $11 but if you show sales potential, we can discuss commissions on top of your hourly salary. Responsibilities Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a friendly demeanor. Manage check-in and check-out processes efficiently, ensuring accurate guest accounts. Handle guest inquiries and provide information on hotel services, amenities, and local attractions -- including places to eat, distance to downtown, and popular events occuring throughout the area. Process reservations and cancellations using hotel management software. Maintain a well-organized workspace, including folding laundry or bed sheets, which may comprise 25-40% of the role. Assist with night audit duties during night shifts, ensuring financial accuracy. Address guest concerns promptly and professionally. Operate phone systems to manage calls and messages. Support overall hotel operations and guest experience. Requirements Previous hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
Entrepreneurial mindset:
This role involves actively closing sales—turning inquiries into reservations and identifying growth opportunities (e.g., local partnerships). After three months, high performance in sales may lead to pay adjustments. Strong communication skills; bilingual candidates (e.g., English/Spanish) may receive a higher starting pay. Familiarity with front desk operations is advantageous, but customer service skill is key. Flexible hours; shifts typically run 7 a.m.-3 p.m., 3 p.m.-11 p.m., or 11 p.m.-7 a.m. Positive attitude and a commitment to outstanding guest service. We integrate you into the Choice system, offering rapid promotion opportunities for those who excel. We aim to create a family-oriented environment, not a typical corporate hotel. If you see long-term growth in hospitality and sales, we'd love to hear from you. Want to emphasize that there is ample room for growth for candidates who excel in this position. GM opportunities may be discussed if you meet criteria. Let's talk!
