Job Description
Overview We are looking for a friendly, professional, and dependable Front Desk Clerk to join our hotel team. The Front Desk Clerk is often the first and last point of contact for our guests and plays an important role in creating a welcoming, comfortable, and positive guest experience. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has excellent customer service skills, communicates clearly, and is able to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner. Complete guest check-in and check-out accurately and efficiently. Process reservations, payments, room charges, and guest accounts. Answer incoming phone calls and respond to guest questions and requests. Assist guests with reservations, directions, local information, and hotel services. Address guest concerns and complaints professionally and work to resolve issues promptly. Maintain accurate guest records and follow hotel procedures for handling payments and confidential information. Communicate effectively with housekeeping and other hotel departments regarding room status and guest needs. Monitor room availability and assist with reservations and room assignments. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area. Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, and customer service standards. Assist with other front desk and hotel duties as needed. Qualifications Previous hotel or customer service experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Friendly, professional, and positive attitude. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills and ability to learn hotel reservation systems. Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately. Must be dependable and punctual. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to approximately 25 pounds. Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other front desk equipment.
