Job Summary We are seeking a welcoming, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Hotel Front Desk Agent to join our hospitality team. As the primary point of contact for our guests, you will shape their experience from arrival through departure. Responsibilities include managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, providing local information, and resolving guest inquiries with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism.
Welcome arriving guests, verify identification and credit details, and process check-ins promptly. Execute smooth check-outs, issue final bills, and process payments (cash, credit cards, or billing accounts). Assign rooms, issue keycards, and provide clear information regarding hotel amenities, hours of operation, and local attractions.
Communication & Reservations:
Answer incoming calls and emails, addressing inquiries, taking direct reservations, and transferring calls appropriately. Handle special requests (e.g., late check-outs, room upgrades, accessibility needs) with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
Financial & Administrative Support:
Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift. Post charges for room, food, beverage, or incidentals to guest folios accurately. Audit daily accounts and maintain confidentiality of guest personal and financial information.
Interdepartmental Coordination:
Communicate closely with Housekeeping and Maintenance to track room readiness, report issues, and ensure guest requests are resolved quickly. Log and follow up on guest complaints or service breakdowns using the hotel's property management system (PMS).
High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Hospitality, Business, or related fields is a plus. Previous experience in customer service, front desk operations, or retail is preferred. Experience with Property Management Systems (e.g., Opera, Fossee, or similar) is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (multilingual ability is a strong asset). Professional personal presentation and a guest-first attitude. Basic numerical skills for handling cash transactions and balancing ledgers. Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and resolve conflicts effectively.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift). Willingness to work flexible shifts, including morning, evening, weekend, and holiday rotations.
