Guest Service Associate - The Shoe Market Position Summary The Guest Service Associate is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and efficient experience to every guest who visits The Shoe Market. This front-counter role handles sales transactions, exchanges, store credits, special orders, and other guest requests promptly and accurately while representing the brand with a welcoming demeanor. Associates collaborate closely with sales teammates, managers, and stockroom personnel to keep the front of the store organized and functioning smoothly. As a primary point of contact for guests, Guest Service Associates ensure visitors feel comfortable, respected, and appreciated from arrival through checkout. Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or customer service and familiarity with cash handling or point-of-sale systems are beneficial but not required; we value a positive attitude, reliability, and a desire to learn.
Hourly Rate:
$15/hour, negotiable based on experience. Key Responsibilities Greet and acknowledge every guest with a friendly, professional approach; offer attentive service and assistance. Actively listen to guest needs, resolve questions or concerns within store policy, and escalate when appropriate. Accurately process purchases, returns, exchanges, and store credits using the store's point-of-sale system. Handle holds, gift certificates, repairs, special orders, and customer pickups with care and accuracy. Answer phone inquiries and maintain professional communication with guests and co-workers. Teamwork & Store Support Coordinate with sales associates, managers, and stockroom staff to support daily operations and inventory flow. Assist other departments when coverage and priorities allow to create a seamless guest experience. Stay informed about promotions, events, policies, and system updates; attend meetings and training sessions. Contribute to a respectful, cooperative workplace and help maintain a tidy, organized front counter area.
