Part of Milwaukee based Marcus Hotels & Resorts, the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel in downtown Lincoln has been serving Nebraska's capital city for nearly 90 years and has evolved as the benchmark for hospitality. What will you be doing? Facilitate all transactions to ensure a positive guest experience; including greeting/welcoming all guests, check-ins/outs, effectively resolve challenging guest requests and complaints. Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum - including remaining calm and alert, especially during emergency and/or heavy hotel activity. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs, make corrections and adjustments throughout the shift. Input and retrieve information routinely from computer systems with electronic and numerical codes. Perform all other related duties and special projects as requested and/or assigned. What you will bring to the role? Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure. Ability to effectively deal with guest and employee concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. Excellent phone etiquette skills, interpersonal, listening and communication skills to include the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English Language. High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior hospitality and/or cash handling experience preferred. Basic mathematical skills and ability to operate a 10- key by touch, as well as being knowledgeable in accounting operations; prior exposure to Microsoft Office Experience/Excel is highly preferred. Must be detail-orientated, able to multi-task, produce high quality and accurate work as well as show professionalism in all facets of the workplace. Must be able to represent the company in a professional, well-groomed and courteous manner at all times. What is in it for you?
