Job Description
Position Summary The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for providing friendly, efficient guest service and supporting the day-to-day front desk operation of Roadrunner Lodge LLC. This position handles reservations, guest arrivals and departures, payments, questions, and routine guest needs while coordinating closely with housekeeping and maintenance. The Front Desk Attendant serves as a primary point of contact for guests and helps ensure each stay reflects Roadrunner Lodge's standards for hospitality, accuracy, cleanliness, security, and presentation. Key Responsibilities Guest Service & Front Desk Operations Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service throughout their stay Complete guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently Answer telephone calls and respond to guest questions regarding rooms, rates, policies, amenities, and the local area Assist guests with routine requests, questions, and concerns and escalate issues to the General Manager/Owner when appropriate Communicate property policies clearly and consistently Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby area Reservations & Payments Create, modify, and cancel reservations accurately using the property management system Review upcoming arrivals, departures, room assignments, reservation notes, and payment requirements Understand and correctly apply rates, room types, cancellation policies, pet policies, and other reservation terms Process guest payments, deposits, refunds, and other transactions accurately Maintain accurate guest records and reservation notes Handle direct and third-party reservations according to established procedures Gift Shop & Guest Refreshment Station Accurately record all gift shop sales and process cash and electronic payments Make accurate change for cash purchases Maintain responsibility for the cash drawer during the assigned shift Keep the cash drawer locked immediately after each cash transaction Restock sold consumable merchandise and other gift shop items as needed When restocking, place items carefully and according to direction from the merchandiser Ensure coffee, cups, condiments, and other coffee supplies are stocked and available throughout the morning shift Prepare or replenish coffee and related supplies upon guest request during the evening shift Keep the coffee and snack station clean, organized, stocked, and presentable Housekeeping & Property Coordination Coordinate with housekeeping regarding room status, early arrivals, late departures, room changes, and special guest needs Confirm rooms are ready for arriving guests and promptly communicate discrepancies or concerns Report maintenance problems, damages, housekeeping issues, and other property concerns Communicate unresolved guest or property issues to the next shift and to management as needed Assist with guest needs involving room access, property amenities, parking, pets, and other routine matters Property Standards, Security & Team Communication Ensure non-employee areas of the property remain secure and accessible only to authorized personnel Proactively pick up and properly dispose of trash, litter, and debris encountered anywhere on the property If a guest request or other immediate responsibility prevents prompt removal of trash or debris, notify an appropriate team member so it can be addressed Monitor team radio communications and follow up when a call requiring attention receives no response Report safety, security, maintenance, cleanliness, or guest-service concerns promptly to the appropriate team member or management Help maintain Roadrunner Lodge's cleanliness, appearance, security, and guest-ready condition throughout the property regardless of primary job assignment Shift Administration & Communication Complete required shift notes, logs, and front desk documentation accurately Communicate important guest, reservation, maintenance, and operational information between shifts Follow established procedures for cash handling, payment processing, keys, and guest information Protect guest privacy and confidential business information Follow established procedures for emergencies, disturbances, safety concerns, and unusual incidents Complete routine front desk tasks and other duties reasonably related to motel operations as assigned Qualifications Prior customer service, hospitality, retail, or similar public-facing experience preferred Friendly and professional communication skills Dependable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts with limited supervision Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Comfortable using computers, phones, payment systems, and web-based software; willingness to learn the motel's property management system required Ability to manage multiple guests, telephone calls, reservations, and tasks during busy periods Ability to remain calm and professional when handling guest complaints or unexpected situations Good judgment and willingness to ask for assistance or escalate issues when appropriate Ability to work cooperatively with housekeeping, maintenance, management, and other staff Availability to work assigned evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require Ability to perform routine physical tasks associated with front desk operations, including standing, walking, and light lifting What Success Looks Like A successful

Arrives for their shift clean, well-groomed, and well-dressed Welcomes guests in a friendly, professional manner and helps create a positive first and last impression Handles reservations, payments, gift shop sales, check-ins, and check-outs accurately Understands and consistently applies motel policies without unnecessary conflict or confusion Keeps clear, useful notes so important information is not lost between shifts Communicates promptly with housekeeping, maintenance, and management when something needs attention Notices problems early and takes appropriate action rather than leaving them for someone else Takes ownership of the appearance, cleanliness, and security of the property, even when an issue falls outside the front desk area Remains calm, courteous, and practical when dealing with complaints or unexpected situations Keeps the front desk, lobby, gift shop, and guest refreshment areas organized, clean, stocked, and ready for guests Can be trusted to work independently, safeguard the cash drawer, make sound routine decisions, and ask for help when a situation exceeds their authority, training, or ability Helps guests leave Roadrunner Lodge feeling they were genuinely welcomed and well cared forPay:
