We're looking for caring, dependable, and positive individuals to join our team as a Part-Time Guest Support Specialist I at Mercy House . Whether you're beginning a career in human services or simply want meaningful work that matters, this is an opportunity to help people experiencing homelessness while working alongside an amazing team. What You'll Do Every shift is different! You'll help create a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for our shelter guests by: Greeting and assisting guests with professionalism and respect. Monitoring the safety and security of the facility. Conducting routine rounds throughout the shelter. Assisting with guest check-ins and daily operations. Maintaining accurate documentation and shift reports. Responding calmly and appropriately during emergencies. Helping ensure the shelter remains clean, organized, and welcoming. Working collaboratively with Case Managers and other staff to support guest success. What We're Looking For We're searching for someone who is: Compassionate and non-judgmental. Reliable and dependable. Calm under pressure. A strong communicator. Team-oriented with a positive attitude. Comfortable working with diverse populations. Experience in human services, security, customer service, healthcare, or hospitality is a plus—but we're happy to train the right person! Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid New York State driver's license preferred. Ability to work evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays as needed. Ability to pass all required background checks.
