This role identifies and reports any preventative or maintenance issues in public spaces or guest rooms. The Lobby Attendant carries out a range of tasks to ensure that guestrooms, work areas, and the overall hotel premises are kept clean and organized. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Cleans rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and carpet shampoo machine.
- Cleans glass doors, windows, mirrors, and other high-touch surfaces.
- Cleans and maintains the hotel lobby, entrance, hallways, elevators, and other public areas.
- Washes walls and ceilings.
- Moves furniture and turn mattresses.
- Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Empties trash and recycling bins and replaces liners as needed.
- Dusts and polishes metalwork.
- Responds promptly to guest requests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Restocks supplies in public restrooms, including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Cleans and sanitizes public restrooms regularly.
- Reports maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to the appropriate department.
- Performs duties of room attendant when necessary.
- Cleans all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.
- Ensures the lobby remains neat, organized, and free of clutter throughout the day.
- Reports missing / found articles, damage, or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
- Always respond in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and other colleagues.
- Assists guests with directions and basic hotel information when needed.
- Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
- Follows hotel safety, sanitation, and security procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a commercial setting with regular exposure to cold, heat, noise, people, and equipment.
- Able to work independently or as a team member and support managers with special projects.
- Strong collaboration skills - works well across functional areas—excellent relationship-building skills; able to collaborate with various levels of the organization.
