Job Description

Mailroom Coordinator Doryth Los Angeles, CA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $25.93 - $31.23 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits Paid training Disability insurance Relocation assistance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off 401(k) matching 403(b) Life insurance Qualifications Computer operation Mail distribution High school diploma or GED Front desk Mail processing Hazardous materials regulations Full Job Description Job Summary We're hiring a Mailroom Coordinator to manage incoming and outgoing mail and packages for the building. You'll sort mail by department or recipient, log deliveries, and get everything where it needs to go on time. Some days it's quiet, just a few packages and routine envelopes. Other days a shipment of boxes shows up all at once and you're sorting fast. You'll also handle outgoing mail, prepping it for pickup and making sure postage and addresses are correct before it leaves. It's a role that rewards consistency, since a missed package or a misrouted envelope creates a headache for someone else down the line. You'll work the front desk area sometimes too, signing for deliveries and answering questions from staff about where something is. Responsibilities Sorting incoming mail and packages by recipient or department Logging deliveries into the tracking system Distributing mail to desks or department mailboxes on a set schedule Prepping outgoing mail with correct postage and labels Signing for packages and notifying recipients when something arrives Keep the mailroom organized and supplies stocked Coordinating with couriers and shipping services for pickups, and following up if something's delayed Answering staff questions about missing or expected mail Qualifications You keep track of small details that others might miss, which matters when dozens of packages come in on the same day. Reading names, departments, and addresses quickly and getting them right is something you're comfortable doing under a bit of pressure. When the mailroom backs up around a big delivery, you stay organized instead of just working faster. You're reliable about sticking to the delivery schedule, since people start asking about their mail the moment it's late. Talking with staff who are looking for a package, and keeping that conversation polite even when they're frustrated, comes naturally to you. Being comfortable with basic computer systems for logging and tracking helps you move through the day without getting stuck. You show up on time and treat the schedule as something the rest of the office depends on. Working well with couriers, front desk staff, and whoever else passes through the mailroom is part of how the job actually runs.
