Job Description

Job Summary We're hiring a Mailroom Coordinator to manage the mail and packages that arrive at our office each day. You'll sort incoming mail by department, log packages in a tracking sheet, and deliver everything to the right desk. Outgoing mail comes through you as well, so you'll weigh envelopes, apply postage, and have them ready before the carrier stops by. It's a fairly quiet job. Deliveries usually bunch up in the late morning, and we'll show you where each department sits during your first week, so nobody's expected to know the floor plan already. Some days are light, others aren't, that's how the mail goes. Responsibilities Sorting incoming mail by department. Log each package when it arrives, then email the recipient so it doesn't sit on the shelf for days. Weighing and stamping outgoing envelopes. Run the mail cart to each floor twice a day, mid-morning and again after lunch. Restocking envelopes and tape. Forwarding misdirected mail to the right person or sending it back to the sender. Keeping the counter clear. Qualifications Matching a name on an envelope to the right desk takes a careful eye, especially when two people share a last name. You can read addresses and short notes in English and type names into a spreadsheet. Because other departments wait on their deliveries, showing up on time for every shift matters. If a package arrives with a torn label, you stay calm and ask a supervisor rather than guessing. We generally walk new people through our tracking sheet, so being open to learning it is what counts. Finishing the morning run before the noon pickup depends on managing your time well. Treating coworkers with respect and staying friendly when they stop by the counter makes the job easier for everyone.
