JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for accommodating Graceland Inn guests by registering and assigning rooms, issuing room keys, transmitting and receiving messages, maintaining accurate records of occupied rooms and guests' accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and processing payments from departing guests.
DUTIES:
Greet, register, assign rooms and issues room keys to guests of Graceland Inn Maintain accurate records of room availability and guests' accounts Post charges, such as those for rooms, food, or liquor Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests as needed Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers, as necessary Review accounts and charges with guests during the checkout process Responsible for transmitting and receiving messages Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment Prepare for basic food service, such as setting up continental breakfast or coffee and tea supplies Assist General Manager and other employees as needed; assisting in dining room service as time allows and situations demand Clean and maintain lobby and common areas, such as restocking supplies and watering plants Responsible for keeping all materials and information collected by guests safe and confidential
PREREQUISITES / EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required; prior hospitality experience preferred Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and reservations systems for both room and restaurant guests Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work independently and with a team Demonstrated ability to communicate and work well with diverse groups of people and different personality types
