About the Property Chateau Avalon isn't a cookie-cutter hotel. It's a 62-suite boutique escape on 28 woodland acres with themed suites, a full-service spa, award-winning cocktails at the d'Nile Lounge, and six Kansas City Visitor Awards on the wall. It's also a property in motion, undergoing significant renovations, system upgrades, and operational transformation. This is not a maintenance role. This is a builder role. The Opportunity We're looking for a General Manager who can see around corners. Someone who doesn't just manage what is, but champions what's coming. Job Responsibilities Oversee all daily hotel operations including rooms, spa, lounge, and guest experience Lead and motivate staff through a period of significant renovation and operational change Serve as the primary liaison between hotel operations and ownership Implement and manage new systems, technology platforms, and operational processes Maintain and elevate guest experience standards consistent with Chateau Avalon's boutique identity Monitor financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and expense management Develop and enforce policies and procedures across all departments Ensure compliance with health, safety, and brand standards Recruit, train, and retain top hospitality talent Champion the long-term vision of the property and communicate it clearly to staff and ownership Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a closely related field (required) 2-5 years of hotel leadership experience, GM or AGM level preferred Proven experience managing or implementing property management systems and hospitality technology Strong financial acumen including P&L ownership and budget management Exceptional organizational skills with a track record of building and following systems Outstanding communication skills across staff, guests, and ownership Boutique or independent hotel experience strongly preferred Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, growth, and transition A calm, patient, and encouraging leadership style under pressure What's Here for You A rare chance to put your fingerprints on an iconic Kansas City property and grow into the leader you're working to become.
