WAGE:
DEPENDENT UPON QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL DUITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist supervisors and managers across departments in the coordination of all necessary promotional programs and packages, entertainment and VIP requests, convention/catering requests, tour and group activities, as well as all transactions in conjunction with food and beverage and golf course activities. Hire, terminate, evaluate, discipline, mentor, schedule staff, delegate tasks and administer employee personnel file. Record activities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Assist supervisors in the development of departmental budgets, policies and procedures as requested and in compliance with internal controls. Mentor and empower subordinates to increase their management skills and education. Handle stressful customer and employee complaints/comments with good judgment and decision making to satisfaction while exhibiting superior public relations skills and professional mannerisms with business objectives and goals being priority. Master the PMS software in order to utilize it to its full capability. Facilitate and record staff meetings. Assume authority across department in the absence of manager and department director.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED. Minimum Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years Lead Lodging Associate experience or comparable supervisory experience within the hotel industry. Knowledge of employee attendance/corrective action procedures/policies.
Knowledge:
Must have strong working knowledge of the Property Management System software. Must be knowledgeable of credit card and point of sale terminals, Key programming system, and point redemption systems. Knowledge of acceptable accounting practices. Must be knowledgeable with MS Word and Excel.
Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to type 35 wpm accurately. Must have verifiable strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Must be able to problem solve with confidence and maturity using sound judgment while under stressful conditions. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Must be detail oriented and have strong multi-tasking skills. Must be able to maintain confidentiality, integrity and enthusiasm at all times. Must be able to work with large volumes of irate and frustrated guests. Must be able to tolerate frequent stress and deadlines. Must be flexible with work schedule, including holidays and weekends and be able to accommodate a call-out if needed. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is a must.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Computer, Property Management System, telephone system, Info-genesis terminal, front desk unit (FDU), Visionline key making software, in-house radio system, calculator, fax machine, copy machine and printer machines.
W0RK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. The work environment is stressful, chaotic, and can be loud. Office space is open. Employees are exposed to second-hand smoke that front line employees typically come into contact with within the facility.
