The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the care, repair, and upkeep of the hotel, ensuring guestrooms, public spaces, exterior areas, mechanical systems, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standard. This role will manage preventive maintenance programs, daily work orders, renovation-related projects, capital improvements, and special projects while supporting an elevated guest experience. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, service-driven, and comfortable leading both people and projects in a fast-paced hotel environment. Key Responsibilities Lead all property engineering and maintenance operations with a focus on quality, safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. Practice exceptional customer service behaviors, including listening, initiative, responsiveness, courtesy, professionalism, and follow-through. Supervise department personnel while modeling strong leadership, accountability, and brand-aligned service standards. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and support maintenance department team members. Manage department staffing, product usage, expenses, meetings, and daily operating procedures. Oversee preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms, public spaces, exterior areas, mechanical systems, and hotel equipment. Respond to daily guestroom maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner. Complete basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, repair, and general maintenance tasks. Support renovation projects, capital improvements, and other special projects as assigned. Maintain the hotel's grounds and exterior areas, including general landscaping, lawn care, snow removal, and trash removal. Monitor and enforce the proper and safe use of chemicals, tools, supplies, and equipment. Direct department training programs, including orientation, new hire training, ongoing training, and performance evaluations. Clean, test, and maintain pool and spa equipment, including accurate and current logs, where applicable. Keep common areas, exterior grounds, and internal/external trash receptacles clean and well-maintained. Participate in the Manager on Duty rotation. Report building, equipment, and safety concerns to the General Manager on a regular basis. Coach and counsel department team members in a timely manner when performance expectations are not being met.
