Job Description

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President of Hotel Operations, ensures efficient housekeeping and textile operations and provides top quality guest service. Four (4) years of housekeeping supervisory experience required. Ability to read and interpret financial documents. Must possess the financial knowledge necessary to assist in the creation of and adherence to departmental budgets. Must possess proven leadership ability necessary to provide general guidance to subordinate personnel and develop short-term goals. Demonstrates problem-solving ability. Must possess strong interpersonal skills necessary for verbal & written communications to subordinates, guests & other management. Required to become proficient with department specific computer programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Must adhere to the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's Policies and Procedures. Prepares detailed financial reports to ensure adherence to established budgets. Investigates and resolves discrepancies and may assist in preparing operating budgets. Performs inspections of the hotel to ensure adherence to departmental policies and to identify problems. Investigates and resolves employee and/or guest situations by taking immediate corrective actions. Maintains, writes and implements departmental policies and procedures. Enforces and oversees adherence to company policies and procedures according to company progressive disciplinary policies. Assists in the development of Floor Supervisors. Provides professional and timely written/verbal communication addressing guest and employee needs. Interviews, hires, trains, schedules, appraises and supervises all directly assigned personnel. Must be familiar with and adhere to AAA 4-diamond standards. Promotes positive guest and employee relations at all times. Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility. Participates as a panel member on MPGE's Board of Review as needed. Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Four (4) years of housekeeping supervisory experience required

Supervisory Requirements:
Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring work processes. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities. Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations. Completes operations by developing schedules, assigning and monitoring work, gathering resources, implementing productivity standards, resolving operations problems, and implementing new procedures.

The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception. Position requires periods of standing, walking, sitting and writing.
