Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor The applicant must currently reside in central Florida.
POSITION SUMMARY
Housekeeping Lead/ Inspector for a high performing, award-winning Best Western hotel in Auburndale, Florida. Supervises manages and controls housekeeping and laundry. Oversees departmental employees. Plans and assigns departmental work assignments, provides training for newly recruited employees, audit and inspects personnel work assignments and requisition supplies. Additionally, the Housekeeping Lead/ Inspector informs workers about the procedures and policies that have to be followed while cleaning rooms or working in their respective department.
DUTIES:
Manages all housekeeping employees. Objectively evaluates departmental employee performance. Informs workers about the hotel and brand procedures and policies that have to be followed while cleaning rooms or working in their respective department. Trains new employees. Implements and oversees formal training process, assigns new employees to work with experienced help and verifies completion of training process. Inspects and verifies the work of employees daily. Reviews reports. Approves and submits all supply requisitions, such as those for spreads and bathroom rugs. Maintains a lost-and-found department and is responsible for all lost-and-found items. Determines the rightful owner and sends communication accordingly. Organizes and maintains the storage of all departmental supplies. Conducts regular inventories. Maintains established PAR levels. Ensures all staff has an adequate supply of items required to complete their tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Coordinates all preventive maintenance and deep cleaning tasks and schedules with lead maintenance person. Establishes and keeps records as to the completion these tasks as well as additional tasks as assigned by General Manager and owners.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
Responsible for cleanliness, orderliness and appearance of the entire Hotel - including guest rooms, meeting room, all public areas, laundry, employee and public restrooms, offices and elevators. Ensure that rooms are made as per company and brand standards. Maintain par stock of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen and uniform. Organize inventories and storage areas with Accounts and General Store for linen, uniform and fixed assets. Perform quarterly inventories of guest supplies and linens. Pay particular attention while organizing pest eradication activities. Develop and implement Housekeeping systems and procedures. Prepare reports for management information. Assist Purchase department in selecting suppliers for items related to Housekeeping. Attending and resolving guest supply and service requests and complaints. Organize on-the job training and evaluate its effectiveness.
Other Routine Responsibilities:
Daily inspection of all public and employee areas. Daily briefing of Supervisors/ Executives. Coordinating the preventive maintenance schedule of rooms and public area with maintenance department. Immediately attending to guest requests. Maintain open communications with General Manager and/or owners at all times and respond accordingly. Any additional requests as assigned or requested by General Manager and/or ownership. Creating a
Team Work Culture:
On busy days you will assist with stripping rooms, bringing up sheets and making some beds if possible. On regular days you can assist with stripping some rooms when checking due out rooms. Always keep a friendly professional attitude when dealing with the Staff. You should always lead by example and continue to use your work time wisely. There should not be any reason for sitting down for lengthy amounts for time.
