Environmental Sanitation Services Manager City of St. Petersburg - 3.8 Saint Petersburg, FL Job Details Full-time $87,690 - $138,372 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Program design Program management Management Administrative experience High school diploma or GED Personnel administration Office record organization Full Job Description This is responsible administrative and professional work in coordinating activities related to the City's brush sites, furniture and appliance removal program, yard waste program, sanitation inspectors, rodent control, emergency management and response, and other related environmental sanitation services. Work involves responsibility for the environmental services division's route planning; program development and implementation; responding to complaints related to illegal dumping, misuse of brush sites, and sanitation ordinance violations; and for the selection, placement, training, development, and discipline of assigned employees.

Applicants must:
Have a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency. Have considerable progressive training and experience in municipal solid waste collection and disposal operations, including some progressive administrative management staff experience in personnel management, information systems, and program development. Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Be able to prepare and maintain detailed reports of activities. Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster. Desirable Qualifications.
Preferred applicants:
Have a valid Bachelor's Degree. Have knowledge of the geographic characteristics of the City. Are able to efficiently and effectively multitask, responding to rapidly changing administrative demands. Are skilled at record keeping, document maintenance, and planning and organizing. Have considerable knowledge of governmental procurement and contracts proceedings. Have experience and knowledge in emergency management operations. Possess knowledge of drop-off recycling programs, including site operations, accepted recyclable materials, customer service procedures, contamination prevention, and compliance with local, state, and federal recycling regulations. Possess knowledge of vegetative debris recycling processes, including the collection, separation, processing, and environmentally responsible recycling or reuse of yard waste and organic materials.
