Hiawatha Care Center is actively hiring an Environmental Services Director to lead housekeeping and environmental services operations throughout the facility. The Environmental Services Director plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. As the Environmental Services Director, you will provide focused leadership to the EVS team while ensuring cleanliness, infection prevention, regulatory compliance, and department performance standards are consistently maintained.

$55 000 - $60 000 per year Benefits Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Time Off (PTO) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Schedule and Employment Type Full-Time Days Key Responsibilities Oversee daily housekeeping and environmental services operations for Hiawatha Care Centre (SNF) and Promise House Hiawatha (ALF) Lead, supervise, train, and support Environmental Services staff Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate department coverage Establish and maintain high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and overall facility appearance Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sanitation, safety, and environmental regulations Conduct routine inspections and quality checks throughout resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces Monitor housekeeping practices and address areas requiring improvement Ensure cleaning supplies, equipment, and environmental services resources are properly maintained and available Support infection prevention initiatives and help prevent cross-contamination throughout the facility Maintain appropriate documentation and records related to environmental services operations Prepare the department for regulatory surveys, inspections, audits, and quality reviews Respond to resident, family, and staff concerns related to cleanliness and environmental services Collaborate with nursing, maintenance, dietary, and other departments to maintain a safe and comfortable environment Promote accountability, teamwork, and professionalism among EVS staff Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction Perform other environmental services and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Previous Environmental Services, housekeeping, or custodial leadership experience preferred Experience in a skilled nursing, assisted living, healthcare, or senior living environment preferred Strong knowledge of sanitation, infection prevention, and environmental safety standards Previous supervisory or management experience preferred Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to train, motivate, and hold staff accountable to established standards Ability to conduct inspections and identify areas requiring corrective action Ability to work effectively with residents, families, employees, and interdisciplinary teams Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety If you are an experienced Environmental Services leader who takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, apply today to join the Hiawatha Care Center team!
