Job Description

Head Housekeeper Stardust Motel
  • Wallace, Idaho ( Wallace is in North Idaho
  • 1 hour from Spokane Washington / 2 hours from Missoula Montana) Full-Time
  • Seasonal or Year Round Position Overview Stardust Motel is looking for an experienced Head Housekeeper who knows what excellence looks like — and how to lead a team to deliver it.
We may be an independent vintage motel, but we operate with brand-level standards. Our ideal candidate has 3+ recent years of experience as a Head Housekeeper who understands structured systems, inspections, training, and consistency. This role reports directly to the Assistant General Manager (AGM) and works closely with the Maintenance Lead to ensure rooms are not only spotless, but fully functional and truly guest-ready. At Stardust, details matter. Clean matters. Pride matters. We're looking for someone who leads by example, holds standards high, and takes ownership of the guest experience from the moment a door opens. This is a working leadership role...you will be in rooms, training your team, inspecting thoroughly, refining systems, and building consistency every day. We're not just turning rooms. We're stardusting them! Key Responsibilities Lead daily housekeeping operations Inspect rooms to ensure brand-level cleanliness and consistency Train and coach housekeeping staff to meet high standards Create accountability and a positive, professional team culture Maintain supply organization and inventory awareness Coordinate closely with the AGM on room repairs and preventative upkeep Communicate clearly with the AGM regarding staffing, quality control, and operational needs Support daily task assignments Ensure safety standards and proper chemical usage Follow the systems already in place What Success Looks Like in 90 Days By 90 days, the right candidate will have established clear room standards and inspection routines, built trust and accountability within the housekeeping team, reduced missed details and re-cleans, organized supply systems and linen flow, strengthened communication between housekeeping, maintenance, and front desk, and helped create a culture of pride, consistency, and professionalism. Most importantly, guests walk into rooms that feel fresh, intentional, and cared for every single time. Qualifications 3+ recent years as a Head Housekeeper in a recognized hotel brand or franchise (required) Strong understanding of inspection standards and quality control Experience training and leading housekeeping teams Knowledge of inventory tracking and supply management Ability to lead by example and maintain professionalism Strong attention to detail Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed We are independent and we expect structured, professional standards. Experience in a branded hotel environment is essential. Our Approach to Compensation We believe strong leadership deserves strong compensation. Our posted range reflects the base hourly structure, and placement within that range is based on recent franchise-level leadership experience, reliability, and the ability to maintain high inspection standards while effectively managing a team. As systems strengthen and performance is demonstrated, there will be opportunities for increased responsibility and earning potential. This role is designed for someone who sees this as a long-term leadership opportunity not just a job, but a place to build and grow. Housing may be provided for the right candidate. A private single living unit is available, and dogs are welcome. Details can be discussed during the hiring process.
