Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for providing a clean, orderly, safe, and attractive environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Three years of experience in housekeeping, one of which was in a long-term care environment.

Job Functions:

Provides direction and guidance for the housekeeping staff. Participates in the hiring, disciplining and evaluation of housekeeping employees. Conducts inventory of personal items of new residents. Inspects facility cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control, and takes corrective action. Participates in facility "Performance Improvement Program." Orders supplies, checks shipments, and conducts inventories. Monitors supply usage for appropriateness and efficiency. Prepares work schedules and maintains adequate staffing. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Skilled in directing and motivation the workforce. Ability to communicate effectively with resident and their family members, and at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of infection control techniques.
