This position is responsible for assisting in the supervision of the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping/Laundry department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing long-term care and as may be directed by the Environmental Services Director to assure the Community is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner. Advances the value that the resident comes first. The employee values the Community as the residents' home and works to create attributes of home and models person centered care.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in housekeeping or laundry in a health care setting desired. Experience as a supervisor desired. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities, including floor cleaning, vacuuming, and general sanitation tasks to ensure resident rooms and public areas meet quality standards. Train and mentor housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of cleaning equipment, chemical handling, and safety procedures aligned with Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Monitor the use of cleaning agents and chemicals, ensuring proper handling and storage in accordance with health and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections of resident areas, corridors, restrooms, and other public spaces to maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment maintenance, and ordering supplies as needed to support efficient operations. Enforce emergency procedures related to sanitation incidents or safety hazards promptly and effectively. Promote excellent customer service by addressing resident concerns related to cleanliness swiftly and professionally while maintaining a positive team environment. Requirements Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial experience within hospitality settings. Strong knowledge of floor care techniques, industrial cleaning methods, janitorial equipment operation, and sanitation protocols. Familiarity with chemical agent handling, safety data sheets (SDS), and proper use of cleaning chemicals. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety guidelines. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and supervise a diverse team effectively. Exceptional customer service skills to ensure guest satisfaction through attentive service delivery. Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures related to sanitation or safety incidents. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards across multiple areas.
