Job Description

The Winchester Inn, a premier small boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Ashland, is looking to fill our Head Housekeeping position. We are looking for a person with experience in managing people, excellent customer service, a can-do attitude, and to be a lead-by-example manager. This is a full-time year-round position. Minimum of 2 years prior housekeeping leadership experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
We are looking for responsible, positive, diligent, and reliable individuals Must have the ability to communicate in English, Communicate well with guests, staff, and management. Must be willing to "pitch in" and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Must be flexible with last-minute changes about guest requests. Must be able to complete work within the required time frame. Teamwork oriented Superior attention to detail and communication skills Daily tasks include supervising as well as cleaning guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas, restocking supplies, and responding to guest requests Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, bend, and squat repeatedly, be comfortable with stairs Knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays A professional appearance and good personal hygiene must be maintained at all times Provide luggage service when needed Willing to perform other job-related tasks that may not be included in this job description Must be customer service oriented and able to respond to guest-related questions or concerns in a timely, efficient, and positive manner Maintains a friendly, cheerful, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times with guests and fellow staff The ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume fast-paced atmosphere is imperative.
