Position Summary:
Oversees all aspects of the operation of the Laundry department. Provides direction and management for all laundry staff through oral and written communication. Participates in training and orientation of new employees and training and retraining of existing staff. Manages all aspects of the department's operating budget. Performs job function with minimal supervision of administration.Responsibilities:
Manage the development and training of the production team members in efficiently producing high-quality linen. Responsible for the effective and successful management of resources, staff, productivity, and quality control Review production necessities to meet the demands of the facility. Develop, manage, and assign tasks appropriately to ensure the laundry facility is organized. Plans work and staffing schedules to ensure adequate services are rendered based on company standards. Ensures linen is dealt with in accordance with procedures and proper administration. Provide recommendations for replacement of damaged linens. Manage and maintain laundry equipment. Prepare and monitor the department budget, including preparing the annual budget and processing purchase requisitions throughout the year. Process payroll, days off, overtime, and vacation scheduling. Conduct training in job duties, proper equipment use, and safety procedures. Address issues with residents and family members relating to resident clothing concerns. Oversee the maintenance of the laundry equipment. Work with relevant departments to ensure that expectations are consistently met.Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of three years of supervisory/leadership experience in an applicable role required. 1-4 years' experience in the laundry-related field preferred Basic supervisory techniques, working knowledge of administrative and production techniques and principles required. Working knowledge of the laundry department preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of general office equipment, including computer, telephone, printer, shredder, and copier. Licenses /Certificates:
Certified Laundry Manager Certificate preferred.Job Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
