110K Bonus Eligible Position Summary Metz Environmental Services is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-oriented Director of Environmental Services & Patient Transport to lead critical support operations at a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Hospital. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all EVS and patient transport functions, ensuring a safe, clean, efficient, and patient-centered environment that supports exceptional clinical outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in acute care operations, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence, improving patient throughput, and building high-performing teams in complex healthcare environments. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic and operational leadership for Environmental Services and Patient Transport departments across all hospital areas Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, disinfection, infection prevention, and patient safety Oversee patient transport operations to ensure timely, efficient, and safe movement of patients, supporting clinical flow and patient satisfaction Develop and implement best practices, policies, and procedures aligned with regulatory standards (CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission) Monitor and drive performance through KPIs including HCAHPS, quality assurance, patient experience, bed turnaround times, and transport response times Collaborate with Nursing, Infection Prevention, Perioperative Services, Emergency Department, and Hospital Leadership Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, dispatchers, and frontline staff across both departments Manage departmental budgets, labor productivity, scheduling models, and supply utilization Identify and implement process improvements and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards Qualifications Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in acute care hospital operations (EVS, Patient Transport, or Support Services required) Proven success managing multi-functional teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment Strong knowledge of infection prevention, hospital cleaning standards, and patient transport logistics/workflow Demonstrated ability to improve operational metrics, patient flow, and service quality outcomes Experience with budget management, labor optimization, and performance improvement initiatives Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Bachelor's degree required (Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred) advanced degree a plus What We Offer Competitive salary with performance-based incentives Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO) Opportunity to work in a mission-driven pediatric trauma environment Career growth and professional development opportunities Please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter highlighting your leadership experience, operational achievements, and impact on patient care and throughput.
