Weekends and Holidays Required The Hilton Garden Inn Chesapeake/Suffolk is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and team-focused Housekeeping Inspector to join our Housekeeping Department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring guest rooms and public spaces meet Hilton brand standards while supporting the housekeeping team throughout the day. The ideal candidate understands that quality and productivity go hand-in-hand and takes pride in delivering a clean, welcoming experience for every guest. This is a working leadership position. In addition to inspecting guest rooms, the Housekeeping Inspector will assist room attendants with small tasks to improve efficiency, complete guest rooms as needed, and help cover room assignments when staffing shortages or call-outs occur. Responsibilities Inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with Hilton brand standards Verify rooms are guest-ready and address deficiencies before releasing rooms for occupancy Assist housekeepers with touch-up cleaning, linen delivery, supply replenishment, and other support tasks to improve productivity Monitor room status and communicate effectively with the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams Report maintenance concerns, safety issues, and out-of-order items promptly Conduct follow-up inspections and coaching as necessary Maintain accurate inspection records and quality standards Assist with training new housekeeping team members Complete assigned guest rooms when necessary Carry a partial room board on busy occupancy days Cover room assignments resulting from employee call-outs or staffing shortages Assist with deep cleaning projects and special assignments as directed Qualifications Previous hotel housekeeping experience required Previous inspection or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of hotel cleanliness standards and guest expectations Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to identify and correct cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation issues Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to stand, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout an entire shift Reliable transportation required Availability to work weekends and holidays is required What We're Looking For The successful candidate understands that inspecting rooms is more than checking boxes.
