The Executive Housekeeper reports to the Director of Operations for the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, and is responsible for the overall operation, cleanliness, quality, and service delivery of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments. This role oversees the cleanliness and condition of guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, linen operations, laundry operations, inspections, staffing, labor productivity, supplies, vendor relationships, and colleague development. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, sound business judgment, and the ability to inspire colleagues while maintaining consistently high standards throughout the hotel. Key priorities include continuing to grow guestroom cleanliness scores, enhancing colleague engagement and overall team satisfaction, effectively managing labor productivity, advancing sustainability practices, and ensuring exceptional quality across guestrooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and laundry operations.
Duties include:
Lead the short- and long-term planning and daily management of the hotel's Housekeeping and Laundry operations. Oversee guestroom, public-area, back-of-house, linen, laundry, and related housekeeping operations. Direct, develop, and hold accountable the Housekeeping leadership team. Establish and maintain consistent inspection programs for guestrooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, linen, and laundry operations. Continue improving guestroom cleanliness scores and overall hotel cleanliness. Maintain high standards for VIP guestrooms, special requests, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and all hotel facilities. Develop staffing plans that support service standards, operational needs, and colleague satisfaction. Effectively manage labor productivity and departmental labor within approved budgets and operational goals. Develop and recommend departmental budgets, labor cost plans, objectives, and capital needs. Maintain appropriate pars and inventory controls for linens, uniforms, cleaning supplies, and operating equipment. Manage purchasing and vendor relationships to ensure proper pricing, delivery, quality, and maintenance. Promote sustainability practices throughout Housekeeping and Laundry operations. Ensure compliance with Hyatt standards, OSHA requirements, ADA considerations, safety procedures, and security policies. Partner closely with Front Office, Engineering, Food and Beverage, Sales, Events, and other departments. Communicate operational priorities and relevant information to leaders and colleagues in a timely manner. Teach colleagues the importance of greeting guests, responding courteously to requests, and delivering caring and attentive service. Coach, counsel, recognize, and develop colleagues in alignment with Hyatt service standards and procedures. Support a culture that enhances colleague engagement, team satisfaction, accountability, and professional growth. Respond to guest concerns and service issues with the goal of effective service recovery and resolution. Review guest feedback and cleanliness-related trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Develop and implement processes that enhance cleanliness, efficiency, sustainability, and the overall guest experience. Participate in leadership meetings, training, and property initiatives, as required. This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. The anticipated budget for this position is $88,900 to $99,000, and this is the pay range for this position that Hyatt Regency Bellevue reasonably expects to pay.
