Job Description

Environmental Services Department Manager Full-Time | Long-Term Care / Healthcare We are seeking an experienced Environmental Services Department Manager to lead housekeeping, laundry, and floor-care operations within a long-term care facility. The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands-on leader who can effectively manage employees, maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and build positive working relationships with facility leadership, residents, and staff.
Responsibilities include:
Manage and supervise housekeeping, laundry, and floor-care employees. Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable state and federal requirements. Lead and assist with light and heavy housekeeping and laundry duties as needed. Train and develop staff and conduct in-service education. Perform routine quality-control inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed. Manage staffing, scheduling, attendance, and daily departmental operations. Maintain records related to supplies, equipment, personnel, expenditures, and departmental operations. Monitor inventory and ensure appropriate use of cleaning products, chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Ensure employees properly use PPE and follow infection-control and safety procedures. Communicate effectively with facility administrators, department leaders, residents, employees, and guests. Ensure projects and assigned programs are completed accurately and on time. Maintain a professional, positive, and service-oriented department. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two years of healthcare housekeeping/environmental services experience preferred. Previous supervisory or management experience preferred. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work effectively in a healthcare/long-term care environment. Ability to work around cleaning products and chemicals. Must be comfortable performing hands-on housekeeping duties when necessary. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
