Minimum Qualifications:

The custodian must have a minimum of two years experience in custodial work, with an emphasis on cleaning in the church setting. Knowledge of floor care, restroom cleaning, dusting, and general housekeeping, and prior experience in the janitorial field is essential.

Principal Responsibilities:

The custodian is responsible for all general housekeeping of the church facilities.

Job Duties:

General Responsibilities 1) Maintain flooring, dust furniture and equipment, and empty trash receptacles according to schedule. 2) Maintain clean restrooms and replenish supplies. 3) Order and maintain stock of cleaning supplies, and paper products (non food) for church facilities. 4) Prepare baptistery for use as directed and clean following use. 5) Assist when facilities and arrangements are needed for weddings and funerals. Extra remuneration according to policy. 6) Keep informed of church calendar and provide housekeeping support as needed. 7) Responsibility for locking and arming the building daily. Specific Responsibilities Restrooms 1) Clean, disinfect, and sanitize all restroom fixtures. 2) Clean and polish mirrors, shelves, dispensers. 3) Clean and polish partitions, doors, and waste receptacles. 4) Clean and disinfect floors. Class Rooms and Offices 1) Clean and polish furniture. 2) Clean all flooring. 3) Empty trash receptacles. 4) Clean windows, blinds and doors. Daycare and Church Nursery 1) Maintain restrooms as outlined above. 2) Clean all flooring. 3) Empty trash receptacles. 4) Clean windows, blinds and doors.

Relationships:

Immediate supervisor is the staff member assigned to supervise Building and Grounds.

Time Work Hours:

The custodian will work 20 hours a week with a regular work schedule as assigned. This description in no way states or implies those duties listed above are the only tasks to be performed. All employees will be expected to follow directions, perform duties requested by the supervisor, and support all areas of the church as needed.

Pay:

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
