The Janitorial Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep of the YMCA facility and surrounding grounds. Ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Complete all tasks assigned on daily cleaning and maintenance schedules. Maintain cleanliness of facility areas including: Wet and dry mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and window washing. Locker room and restroom cleaning (toilets, urinals, showers, sinks). Trash collection and removal. Seasonal maintenance tasks (e.g., lawn care, snow shoveling/plowing). Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment (both motorized and non-motorized). Replenish supplies (soap, paper products, etc.). Set up and break down furniture and equipment for events. Report and/or perform repairs as directed. Ensure facility and grounds are secured during and at end of shift. Immediately report safety hazards or incidents to Property Director. Other duties as assigned by the Property Director or Executive Director. Must be at least 16 years of age. Demonstrated reliability and ability to follow instructions and work independently. CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Duties require physical activity including, but not limited to, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods, walking, shoveling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Work is performed indoors and outdoors and includes exposure to varying weather conditions.
