Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Custodian Trainer/Floater to join our facilities maintenance team. Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive training sessions on cleaning techniques, equipment operation, chemical handling safety procedures, and proper sanitation practices to custodial staff. Supervise and support janitorial teams by providing guidance on safe lifting practices, heavy lifting protocols, and the use of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and industrial scrubbers. Perform routine cleaning duties across different facilities, including floor care, sanitation of restrooms, dusting, trash removal, and general upkeep to ensure a pristine environment. Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting (residential or industrial), and upkeep of cleaning tools and supplies. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and custodial standards; address any deficiencies promptly. Support the onboarding process for new custodial team members by demonstrating proper use of cleaning equipment and emphasizing safety procedures. Maintain detailed records of training sessions, safety incidents, cleaning schedules, and equipment maintenance logs. Qualifications Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning standards. Prior experience in training or mentoring custodial staff is highly desirable. Knowledge of cleaning techniques including floor buffing, industrial cleaning, sanitation practices, and chemical agent handling safety procedures. Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting while following safe lifting practices. Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other janitorial tools. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and facility occupants. Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and facilities maintenance standards. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, perform heavy lifting when necessary, and work in various environmental conditions.
