This role is for a skilled handyman to work for medium sized church on NW side of
Tucson:
minimum of 24 hours per week working Sundays through Thursdays, on call for Fridays, Saturdays and special events. Must be reliable, able to pay attention to details and have both dependable transportation and cell phone. This position contributes to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for our facility. Tasks include minor repairs, safety checks, light cleaning, and setting up tables and chairs in order to ensure our spaces are inviting, safe, and operational. Qualifications Good communication skills, a professional and cooperative manner in working with staff, committees, church members and friends, vendors, and the public. Capable of reading, writing, speaking and understanding English. A reading and writing test will be administered during the interview process. Flexibility and accommodation when working with the variety of needs and people using church facilities. Flexibility in schedule to accommodate special occasions. Self-motivated, but also able to follow assignments and work schedules, prioritizing and planning tasks based on building, grounds and room use requirements. Able to adapt to last-minute changes and situations. Able to lift and move tables and move chair storage racks. Adept at using equipment required to do required tasks i.e. thermostats, dishwasher. A skilled handyman, able to utilize hand tools to do various minor repairs: plumbing, drywall (hanging items, patching), electrical (sockets, ceiling fans, light fixtures), irrigation, and painting. Able to install (shelves, doors) or fixture installation. Able to complete minor cleaning of rooms (floors, bathrooms, dusting) and grounds (raking, cleaning fountain). Duties and Responsibilities Develop and/or maintain weekly, monthly and periodic schedules for operational maintenance for all CAUCC facilities. Coordinate sanitary maintenance with cleaning service. Complete scheduled tasks in a timely and effective manner. Report needed maintenance promptly to the Church Administrator. Track all supplies and order through church administrator. Work additional hours required during Christmas and Easter Holy weeks (the week preceding both events). Work additional hours for Memorial and Wedding services and all-church special events. Desired Experience or Skills Experience in minor repair skills in woodwork, irrigation, plumbing and/or electricity.
Pay:
$15.15 - $15.75 per hour Expected hours: No less than 24.0 per week
