To perform custodial duties as required by district standards; to maintain the cleanliness and safe conditions of a school environment Prior to employment or during the first 3 months of new hire probationary period, drug and alcohol testing shall be required of all new contract employees who work in Operations. Any applicants having a confirmed positive test shall not be eligible for employment.Key Responsibilities:
Perform custodial duties as required by district standards Perform many diversified tasks each day to maintain the cleanliness and safe condition of the schools Operate custodial power equipment Assist in moving equipment and furniture as required Regular and on-time attendance required Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment andMesa Public Schools Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge and experience of custodial equipment, supplies, and proper cleaning proceduresPreferred Qualifications:
High School education or GED preferredSkills & Competencies:

Custodians work inside classrooms, hallways, restrooms, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and offices, as well as outside maintaining school grounds Frequent use of cleaning solutions, disinfectants, and floor treatments requires proper safety precautions Exposed to high temperatures when working outside Requires long periods of standing and walking, often covering large areas of the school throughout the shift Frequently bends to clean floors, pick up trash, and access low areas Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and other cleaning activities require repetitive arm and hand movements Ability to lift approximately 50 poundsEqual Opportunity Employer Statement:
