Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM The Day Porter provides ongoing cleaning and upkeep of high-traffic areas while the building is occupied. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail, responsive to cleaning needs, and comfortable working around employees, visitors, and building management. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairways, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, and other common areas Regularly inspect assigned areas and address cleaning needs throughout the day Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish soap, paper products, and other supplies Empty trash and recycling receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste to designated disposal areas Sweep, mop, and spot clean floors as needed Vacuum and spot clean carpets and upholstered surfaces Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, counters, and other surfaces Clean glass doors, windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces Maintain cleanliness of breakrooms and other shared employee spaces Respond promptly to spills, restroom needs, trash, and other cleaning requests Set up or rearrange tables and chairs in conference or meeting areas as requested Maintain custodial closets, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized condition Monitor supply levels and communicate restocking needs to management Properly use and care for cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies Follow established safety, cleaning, and security procedures Report maintenance concerns, property damage, hazards, or unsafe conditions Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with building employees and visitors Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Previous janitorial, custodial, day porter, or commercial cleaning experience is a plus, but not required Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Professional and courteous when working around employees and visitors Able to take initiative and identify areas requiring attention Able to follow instructions and established cleaning and safety procedures Able to manage time and prioritize cleaning needs throughout the day Able to work independently and as part of a team Bilingual skills are preferred but not required Physical Requirements Employees may be required to: Stand and walk for extended periods Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements Push and pull cleaning carts, trash containers, and equipment Lift, carry, move, and position up to 40 pounds Navigate stairs and varying walking surfaces Perform cleaning duties requiring frequent movement throughout the shift Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Environment This position is performed primarily inside an occupied office building during normal business hours.
