Position Overview We are looking for a hardworking, reliable, and motivated individual to join our team as a Showroom Assistant / Porter. This is a varied, hands-on position involving work in our showroom, customers' homes, and our rug cleaning and restoration facility. Please understand that this is a physically demanding position. At times, the amount of lifting and physical work can be comparable to working for a moving company. The major difference is that most of our work is performed indoors and in air-conditioned environments . Responsibilities Showroom Assist customers by flipping through and displaying stacks of fine rugs Break down and rebuild rug stacks to retrieve specific rugs Hang and display rugs throughout the showroom Measure and cut rug pads Keep the showroom clean, organized, and presentable Assist the sales and operations teams as needed Customer Homes & Deliveries Load and unload rugs from company cargo vans Drive company vans to customers' homes Carefully move and rearrange furniture Display and stage different rug options for customers Professionally install rugs and rug pads Reset furniture and rooms after installation Pick up rugs for cleaning and return and reinstall them when completed Treat customers' homes, furniture, and belongings with exceptional care Rug Cleaning & Restoration Learn the proper cleaning and care of valuable hand-knotted rugs Assist with the complete rug cleaning and restoration process Handle fine rugs carefully and according to company procedures Maintain a clean and organized work environment What We're Looking For The right candidate should be: Hardworking and dependable Positive and professional Comfortable performing physically demanding work Willing and able to learn Able to work well as part of a team Accountable and responsible Careful when handling customers' property Customer-service oriented In possession of a valid driver's license No previous rug experience is required. We will train the right person.
