Custodial Worker (Part Time)

Sun City Grand/The Grand is currently seeking reliable and dependable part-time Custodial Workers to maintain our facilities. We take great pride in the appearance of our facilities and it is a reflection of our business, so we expect our Custodial Workers to take the same pride in their work. Our ideal candidate is careful and thorough, cleaning and tidying the premises with great care and an eye for detail. After 90 days of employment, you can use the fitness facilities for free!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform custodial tasks including, but not limited to, clean floors (vinyl and carpet and wood), windows, lavatories, shower/locker facilities; empty trash; dust furniture; arrange for occasional contract cleaning services (e.g., draperies);
• Perform outdoor functions including, but not limited to, pressure clean tennis courts, vacuum bocce courts, empty of trash receptacles, clean water fountains, clean outdoor furniture;
• Set-up and take-down layout of meeting rooms/multi-purpose rooms, ballrooms, and all facilities;
• Keep current with events and activities occurring at Sun City Grand/The Grand; and
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to:

• Work extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays;
• Work on more than one task at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays; remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances;
• Work effectively in a team environment;
• Deal with the public tactfully and courteously in person and on the telephone;
• Be aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns;
• Understand and comply with both oral and written instructions;
• Meet work deadlines and schedules with minimal supervision;
• Read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed;
• Speak English in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communication may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities;
• Interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, have good reasoning skills, and exercise good judgment;
• Establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of work; and
• Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year(s) general working experience; or a combination of education, experience, and training that indicates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position listed above. Must possess, and maintain, a valid Arizona driver's license.

Occasional Demands:

requires the physical strength and agility to lift, carry, and move objects up to 80 pounds.

Environmental Factors:

alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting; may be exposed to high noise levels.
