THE OPPORTUNITY
(POSITION
OVERVIEW
) Reporting to the School Director, the Custodian will be responsible for maintaining a safe, sanitary and attractive facility and grounds for learners, staff and the public. The Custodian will regularly inspect school facilities to ensure the site is suitable for safe operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
(DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
) Perform General Building Maintenance including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors, scrubbing walls, washing windows, replacing light bulbs, emptying and cleaning wastebaskets and trash containers, and removing gum. Clean and sanitize bathrooms including refilling soap, paper towel and toilet paper dispensers. Clean, dust and wipe furniture. Moves and stores furniture, equipment, supplies and tools as needed. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. Use, clean and maintain assigned power machinery, tools and cleaning equipment. Handle recycling materials. Support and enforce iLEAD policies, safety regulations and guidelines. Identify repairs and maintenance and reporting issues to Maintenance/Facilitates. Secure facility to minimize property damage and equipment loss. Have friendly and positive interaction with learners, parents, staff. Assist the classroom teams in providing extra curriculum support to at-promise learners to fill learning gaps. Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines. Demonstrate standards of moral character and behavior to serve as an effective role model for learners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicating with others to exchange information. (In Person/Telephone/Computer) Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. When needed to support a school or education program, must have the ability to travel by public transit as well as operate a vehicle for self-transportation purposes between worksites. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
