This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily cleaning operations, supervise custodial staff, and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are upheld. As a key member of our management team, you will bring your expertise in cleaning, hospitality, and janitorial services to create an exceptional experience for all visitors and staff. Your leadership will drive efficiency, uphold safety protocols, and foster a positive workplace atmosphere. Responsibilities Daily cleans and maintains the Community Center Building rooms, halls, rest rooms, locker rooms and showers.
Cleaning tasks are:
vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash cans, sweeping, mopping, and whatever else is required to maintain an ideal standard.
Maintenance tasks are:
replacing ballasts and light bulbs, snaking drains, installing dispensers, repairs hand rails, repairs coffee pots and other appliances and other duties as needed.
  • Performs minor repairs on pool equipment, including pumps, heaters, filters, injectors and Chemical Control System.
  • Performs maintenance on spa weekly, including draining, cleaning, cleaning deck area around spa and injectors.
  • Maintains chemical tanks and changes chemicals when necessary, advising supervisor when needing to order more chemicals.
Performs periodic maintenance such as stripping and waxing floors, window cleaning, and other necessary maintenance. Does set-ups for committees, clubs, groups and events in the Community Center and adjoining areas. This includes setting up tables, chairs, podiums, speaker systems, extra trash cans, etc., as needed. Takes down set-ups after events. Adjusts Heating and Air Conditioning in all Community Center room as resident's request. Assists residents with their needs as is appropriate. Cleans and maintains the tennis, paddle tennis, shuffleboard and Bocce Ball courts. Inspects Association building and facilities to assure proper safety and cleaning standards are maintained. Makes necessary changes in procedures to comply as needed. Trains personnel on temporary assignment with the custodial personnel. Performs minor repairs to custodial equipment. Including vacuums, floor machines, paper towel dispensers, install door stops; hang pictures, signs, etc. Provides Customer Service to residents, visitors and vendors, in the midst of regular custodial and set-up duties. This position is responsible for planning and preparing the janitorial supply order each month. Performs chemical checks on pool daily. Proven experience in custodial services with a strong background in commercial cleaning or hotel housekeeping management. Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams of custodians or janitorial staff. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety protocols, laundry operations, and facility maintenance procedures. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to develop schedules, manage inventories, and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills to effectively train staff, enforce standards, and collaborate across departments. Experience in hospitality or healthcare environments is a plus; hotel or hospitality industry experience is highly desirable. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and perform physical tasks required for custodial work.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are: 1. Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in custodial work. Proficient in estimating time and materials needed to perform custodial projects. 2. Minor repair and handyman skills. 3. Knowledge, skills required for this position are basic custodial procedures and the abilities to perform tasks as outlined. Must be able to interpret sketches or plans for room arrangements and implement them accordingly. Must be able to be involved in lifting and rearranging furnishings. Must have willingness and ability to communicate clearly with residents. Must be flexible, able to be interrupted and change from one task to another. 4. A Valid driver's license. 5. Ability to train personnel and demonstrate leadership in directing the work of others. Understanding of the Association's policies and guidelines concerning the safe attractive and sanitary condition of buildings, equipment and facilities under his purview.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Some exposure to outside elements in Camarillo 2. Some lifting and bending of cleaning equipment while performing daily tasks. Lifting and moving of chairs, tables and set up equipment as required.
