What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

Proper methods, techniques, materials, tools and equipment used in modern custodial work. Modern cleaning methods including basic methods of cleaning floors, carpets, furniture, walls and fixtures. Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies. Requirements of maintaining buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition. Appropriate safety precautions and procedures. Proper lifting techniquesEducation and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above Requirements /Qualifications Knowledge of:
