Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to join our team and help maintain a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained to uphold our high standards of cleanliness. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to the overall safety and comfort of our facilities. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience to showcase their skills in a dynamic setting. Responsibilities Shall perform the following services at four (4) non-consecutive days per week. Shall allow 1 business day between service. 1. Sweep, wet mop, and disinfect restroom floors. 2. Clean and disinfect restroom surfaces including all toilets, urinals, flush valve handles, sinks, faucets, countertops, shelves, mirrors, partition latches, doorknobs, and other horizontal surfaces that can collect dust and bacteria. 3. Refill all dispensers in restrooms and breakroom including, toilet paper, toilet seat covers, soap, and paper towels. This service shall be completed more frequently as necessary to ensure dispensers are not empty during office hours. 4. Clean and disinfect breakroom surfaces including sink, faucets, countertops, and tables. The contractor is not responsible for cleaning the sink or dirty dishes, if dirty dishes are left in the sink at the time of service. 5. Clean and disinfect conference room tables. 6. Clean and disinfect drinking fountain/water bottle fill station surfaces. 7. Vacuum and spot clean carpeting throughout office. 8. Empty all waste baskets and dispose of trash in BLM provided dumpsters. Replace trash can liners as needed. Trash can liners shall be replaced if all trash cannot be removed completely, they become wet, produce an odor, or are otherwise soiled. 9. Sweep all concrete sidewalks (an estimated 1,650 square feet). 10. Clean interior and exterior doormats at four exterior doors. Shall perform the following services once per week. 11. Dust all furniture, filing cabinets, countertops, and bookshelves 12. Clean and disinfect partition walls and doors in restrooms 13. Clean windowsills throughout the office to remove cobwebs, dead bugs, dust and other debris. 14. Sweep, wet mop and disinfect janitorial closet floor. 15. Clean and disinfect janitorial utility sink and faucet. 16. Clean acrylic barrier at reception desk. Shall perform the following services every two months. 17. Clean all door kick plates and thresholds. 18. Spot clean all interior walls. 19. Wash interior and exterior of windows and remove dust and debris from window screens. 20. Dust all window coverings, HVAC registers, pictures, and wall plaques. 21. Clean the exterior glass on the display case in the reception area. 22. Sweep floor in mechanical room. Shall perform the following services once per year. 23. Strip and re-wax restroom floors. 24. Shampoo carpet throughout office. Shall shampoo carpet under chairs, rugs, potted plants, trash cans, and other small items. Not required to move desks, bookshelves, display cases, filing cabinets, or other large items when shampooing carpet. Qualifications Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and safety standards. Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing. Experience with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies is highly desirable. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and bending or kneeling comfortably. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to ensure thorough cleanliness across all areas. Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or painting is a plus. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
