Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout assigned campus facilities in support of the university's teaching, research, and public service mission.
The position performs a wide range of custodial duties, including cleaning classrooms, laboratories, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other public spaces; collecting trash and recycling; floor care, dusting, and replenishing restroom supplies. This position also responds to building and custodial emergencies, reports facility deficiencies, performs basic building security responsibilities, and operates custodial equipment safely and efficiently. In addition, this position maintains custodial equipment and supply areas, travels between assigned buildings, participates in departmental meetings, and supports special assignments and emergency response activities as needed.

Experience with cleaning solvents, soaps, waxes and other related chemicals used in custodial work.
Knowledge of standard safety precautions and rules used in custodial work.
Knowledge of basic materials and equipment used in custodial work. Preferred Qualifications Customer service skills.
Skills to determine tools and equipment needed to perform custodial work.
Knowledge to follow all health and safety procedures/protocols. Skill to practice all security procedures related to unlocking, locking and securing of buildings and keys. Key Responsibilities 90%

10% - Miscellaneous and Emergency Response Department Overview Custodial Services is a unit within UC Davis Facilities Management that provides comprehensive custodial support to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the campus community.
The department is responsible for servicing more than 11 million square feet across approximately 1,200 campus buildings, including classrooms, laboratories, offices, research facilities, residence spaces, and other shared areas, through day, swing, and night shift operations. Services include routine cleaning and sanitization, floor care, waste and recycling collection, event support, and other custodial functions that support the university's teaching, research, and public service mission.
