Custodian Heartbeat Music & Performing Arts Academy Escondido, CA Job Details Full-time $20 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Cleaning and sanitation procedure implementation High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Definition Heartbeat Music & Performing Arts Academy is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian to join our team. As a custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment for our young students to learn and grow.
Responsibilities Facility Maintenance:
Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, common areas, offices, and restrooms. Ensure all areas are kept clean and wellmaintained.
Sanitization and Disinfection:
Follow established cleaning protocols to sanitize and disinfect hightouch surfaces, toys, equipment, and furniture regularly. Maintain a hygienic environment to prevent the spread of germs and ensure the health and safety of students and staff.
Waste Management:
Empty trash bins and recycling containers. Ensure proper disposal of waste materials and adhere to recycling guidelines.
Restroom Maintenance:
Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring a clean and stocked supply of toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. Monitor and report any plumbing or maintenance issues promptly.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies, ensuring an adequate stock of supplies for daily cleaning tasks. Notify the appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
Safety and Security:
Maintain a safe environment by identifying and promptly reporting any safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance needs. Assist in implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
Collaboration and Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with supervisors and other staff members. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to address any specific cleaning requirements or concerns.
Special Events Support:
Assist with setting up and cleaning before and after special events, performances, or activities held at the Academy. This may include moving furniture, setting up decorations, and ensuring cleanliness postevent. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred. Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, techniques, and equipment. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving objects as necessary. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with students, parents, and staff. Able to work MondayFriday from 7:30am4:00pm Physical clearance (Physical and TB Screening) and Background Clearance are required prior to the start of employment.
