Day Porter

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and energetic Day Porter to keep our facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. As a vital part of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our commercial or residential spaces during daytime hours. Your role is essential in creating a positive environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, ensuring floors and surfaces are well-maintained, and supporting overall facilities upkeep. Responsibilities Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness. Conduct routine floor care such as buffing, polishing, and basic maintenance to ensure surfaces remain pristine and safe. Support custodial tasks for both commercial and residential spaces, including window cleaning and light maintenance as needed. Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, and reporting larger issues to the appropriate team. Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, entrances, and parking lots to promote a welcoming environment. Follow safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities to prevent accidents or hazards. Keep detailed records of completed tasks and supplies used to ensure efficient operations. Skills Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial work, or custodial services within commercial or residential settings. Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing. Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards. Good physical stamina for standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report issues promptly.
