This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, excellent customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive environment. Responsibilities Smog Technician Duties Perform California smog inspections in compliance with current BAR regulations and testing procedures. Porter Duties Move customer vehicles safely throughout the dealership and service drive. Park and retrieve vehicles as directed by service advisors and management. Perform vehicle inspections for visible damage before and after service when required. Deliver customer vehicles to appropriate service areas. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service drive, parking areas, and vehicle staging areas. Assist technicians and service advisors with vehicle movement and department needs. Fuel or charge vehicles when necessary. Check vehicles for personal belongings and ensure vehicles are secured. Assist with vehicle washing or basic vehicle cleanup as directed. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of customer-facing areas. Follow all dealership safety procedures when operating vehicles. Properly operate and maintain smog inspection equipment. Complete inspections accurately and efficiently. Follow all required BAR procedures and documentation requirements. Verify vehicle identification and inspection information. Communicate inspection results clearly to service advisors and management. Maintain accurate records and required documentation. Identify equipment or testing issues and report them to management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe smog inspection area. Stay current with California smog inspection requirements and BAR updates. Skills Current California Smog Check Technician license/certification as required for assigned testing responsibilities. Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record. Automotive dealership or repair-shop experience preferred. Ability to safely drive and maneuver customer vehicles. Basic knowledge of automotive systems and vehicle operation. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Professional appearance and attitude.
