$19.50 - $20.25 per hour Summary The Norton Simon Museum is seeking a part-time Custodian to provide janitorial services at the Museum under supervision of the Director of Facilities. Qualifications Previous custodial experience is preferred, especially in a cultural institution or similar setting. Must be able to demonstrate the proper use of equipment, materials and supplies that are commonly used in building maintenance. Responsibilities Performs cleaning of the offices, galleries, theater, restrooms, and storage areas using approved methods and products Replenishes supplies in restrooms and kitchen areas Makes timely requests to restock custodial supplies Maintains custodial equipment in proper operating condition Performs minor plumbing repairs as needed Assists with special projects as needed Physical Requirements This position requires strenuous physical activity, walking, climbing stairs and standing for long periods. Must be able to bend, stretch and perform moderate lifting (up to 45 lbs). Schedule Work schedule involves evening and weekend hours, including some holidays.
