What they do

A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The custodian maintains a clean working environment for all staff and visitors, ensuring all areas are clean and safe
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Clean and sanitizes all designated areas (bathrooms, kitchen, breakrooms, offices, etc.), including floors, surfaces, windows, mirrors, and dishes and outdoor signage Empties trash Maintains organization and inventory of cleaning and paper supplies Washes, dries and folds laundry Maintains organized pantry, storage and refrigerator spaces Cleaning and upkeep of kitchen equipment, including ice maker and soft serve machine Cleans, sets up/breaks down patio furniture for guests Sets and clears tables for event, when needed Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30-50 pounds. Must be able to work an eight (8) hour day or more on your feet, as this position requires standing approximately 90% of the time. Must be able to climb, reach, walk, sit, bend, grasp, and perform repetitive motions with adequate visual acuity and hearing.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
No special education is necessary for this position.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED diploma
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
English proficiency is necessary to communicate with co-workers and understand directives from management.
