What they do
A Janitor or Cleaner provides cleaning and basic maintenance in buildings such as schools, offices, stores, hospitals or hotels. Cleans and polishes floors, removes trash, vacuums carpets, washes windows, cleans bathrooms, stocks building supplies such as light bulbs and paper towels and performs minor repairs as needed. Holds keys for rooms and building entrances and locks or unlocks them as needed.

CSEA Salary Schedule:
Range 137, Step A- $40.
Employment Type Temporary Location:
District Office- Maintenance Job Summary Job Summary Under general supervision, operate a variety of motorize mechanical equipment and vehicles used in performing maintenance work; assist in performing grounds keeping work; and perform related duties as assigned by the Maintenance and Operations officer.
Education/Training Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed below.
- Three (3) years of experience operating heavy grounds maintenance equipment and grounds keeping experience.
